What influencers charge in the UAE — and the permit that's now everyone's problem

Two things changed in the UAE creator market this year. Rates kept climbing, and the licensing stopped being optional. If you're planning influencer spend for the rest of 2026, the second one matters more than the first.

Start with the permit, not the rate card

Since 1 February 2026, anyone publishing promotional content in the UAE needs an Advertiser Permit under the UAE Media Council's framework. Not just full-time influencers on retainer — the rule reaches unpaid promotional posts too, including gifted product and barter deals.

The permit itself is not the expensive part. Residents on a solo trade licence have been getting it free for the first three years, and visitor permits run around AED 500 for three months. Companies applying under an LLC structure pay considerably more. Processing takes a few working days.

The expensive part is skipping it. Fines start in the region of AED 10,000, and enforcement is not theoretical.

For a brand, the practical consequence is a new line in your contract. Ask for the permit before the campaign goes live, keep the reference on file, and make the creator's compliance an obligation in writing. A campaign that has to be pulled mid-flight because a creator wasn't licensed costs you the fee, the media behind it, and the moment.

What creators actually charge

These are the bands we see when pricing campaigns in the UAE. They move with category — beauty and fashion sit lower, finance and real estate sit higher, because the audience is worth more and the compliance burden is heavier.

  • Nano, 5k–25k followers — roughly AED 500–2,500 per post. Often the best value in the market. High trust, small reach, and you need a lot of them for a campaign to register.
  • Micro, 25k–100k — roughly AED 2,500–8,000. The workhorse tier. Real engagement, professional enough to hit a brief, cheap enough to test several in parallel.
  • Mid, 100k–500k — roughly AED 8,000–25,000 per deliverable. Now you're paying for reach and for a production standard. Expect them to shoot properly.
  • Macro and above, 500k+ — AED 25,000 to well past AED 100,000. Priced like media, negotiated like talent. Rates here are almost entirely a function of what else they've been offered that month.

Treat these as opening positions. Almost nobody pays a UAE creator's first number.

What the fee should include, and usually doesn't

A rate quoted as "one Reel" is a rate for one Reel appearing on their grid, for as long as they feel like leaving it up. That's it. Everything else is a separate negotiation, and it's where campaigns quietly double in cost.

  • Usage rights. Can you put the content on your own channels? For how long? Reposting a creator's video to your brand account without paid usage is the single most common breach we see.
  • Paid amplification. Running their content as an ad, or whitelisting through their handle, is a distinct permission with a distinct price.
  • Exclusivity. Stopping them working with a competitor for three months costs money. Not asking for it costs more.
  • Revisions and approvals. Agree how many rounds and who signs off, before the shoot rather than after.

How to check you're not buying air

Follower counts are the least useful number on a media kit. Ask for a screen recording of the account insights rather than a PDF — audience location, age split, and reach on the last ten posts. A UAE campaign where 60% of the audience sits outside the GCC is a campaign you're half paying for.

Watch the shape of engagement, not just the volume. Comments that say something specific are worth more than a thousand fire emojis arriving in the first four minutes. And look at their last five brand partnerships. If every other post is an ad, their audience stopped listening a while ago.

The setup that works

Book a spread rather than a single big name. Ten micro creators posting in the same fortnight usually beats one macro creator posting once, and it gives you ten pieces of content to test in paid rather than one. Pay for usage rights up front so the good performers can be pushed with media budget. Then judge the whole thing on saved posts, link clicks, and sales, because reach on its own has never sold anything.

If you want a creator programme scoped with permits checked, usage secured, and rates negotiated properly, send us the brief and we'll come back with a shortlist and a number inside a business day.
