What a property launch film costs in Dubai

Aerial view of the Dubai skyline and Sheikh Zayed Road at dawn

A developer's marketing lead can get quotes from 25,000 to 300,000 AED for the same brief: a launch film for the tower. The range isn't agencies being greedy. It's four or five different products wearing the same name. Here's what's inside the number, and why most of what you're shown looks identical.

The template tax

You already know the film. A drone lifts over the tower at golden hour, slow strings play, a model crosses a marble lobby, and a voice reads a few lines about elevated living. Every developer in Dubai has commissioned it, which is exactly the problem.

Buyers have seen that film a thousand times. It no longer reads as luxury. It reads as category, the way a photo of wagyu now just means "steakhouse." When your launch looks like the twelve launches before it, you paid full price to blend in.

What actually drives the budget

For property specifically, a few things move the number more than the camera does:

  • Empty architecture versus lifestyle. Shooting a finished space is cheap. Add talent, wardrobe, casting and a scripted moment and you're funding a proper production.
  • Off-plan reality. If the building doesn't exist yet, the footage is CGI or a mix of CGI and shot plates. Good architectural CGI is where a lot of the budget goes, and where a lot of it gets wasted on generic renders.
  • Aerial and access. Drone work in Dubai needs licensed operators and permits, and prime locations need filming approvals. That cost is real and shows up in the honest quotes. It's quietly skipped in the cheap ones.
  • The edit. A launch film lives or dies in post: the grade, the sound design, the pacing. It's the first thing a rushed budget cuts and the first thing a buyer feels.

The Dubai price bands

Rough and honest, 2026:

  • 30,000–50,000 AED — a single-shoot piece. One day, one location, a two-week edit. Good for a social teaser or a finished-unit walkthrough. Not a campaign.
  • 80,000–200,000 AED — a proper launch film. Multi-day, art-directed, with talent, a senior editor and a colourist. The version buyers screenshot and forward.
  • 200,000–600,000 AED — a full campaign. Hero film plus cutdowns, stills, CGI for off-plan, sometimes an international shoot. Priced per project, not per day.

For the general, non-property version of these numbers, see what a brand film actually costs in Dubai.

What separates the ones buyers remember

The films that work borrow from fashion editorial and contemporary cinema, not from the real-estate brochure next door. They're art-directed before anyone touches a camera, cut by a senior editor, and held to one test: would this hold up on a billboard at the airport, or only in a WhatsApp group of off-plan agents?

That's the real divide in this market. A clear treatment, a crew sized to the brief, and post that puts the money on screen instead of into overhead. It's how we scope our luxury visual production work.

If you're planning a launch and want it priced this way — transparent, fixed, and built to not look like everything else — send the brief over and we'll come back inside a business day.
